The workshop is intended for emerging artists: students as well as young professionals, to offer guidance and advice on how to be in control of one’s own artistic path. Being a great artist in most cases is unfortunately not enough to be a successful professional; one needs to be able to organize projects, to build a network, to fundraise, to maintain online presence, and last but not least, to find unique ways to deliver their art and integrity to the public. Denis Zhdanov and Elina Akselrud have a perennial experience in artistic entrepreneurship, in addition to being professional artists with a worldwide performing experience, and we are more than delighted to share our advice with the younger generation of emerging artists:

The program offers a review of musical form and the development of the Romantic tradition.  The 3rd Piano Sonata by Australian composer Carl Vine represents a larger musical form of a sonata and demonstrates the composer's ability to masterfully portray the post-Romantic aesthetic through the prism of contemporary compositional devices.

Chopin's famous Ballade in F minor Op.52 continues the line of dark romantic beauty and features what he calls a middle form.

The 24 Preludes Op.28 by Chopin represent the smallest possible form in romantic music and are gems that have amazed people with their perfection and completion for almost two centuries.
